About Us

“Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.” –Kiwanis Mission

Kiwanis has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe, and healthy–regardless of the community in which they live. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, success, and thrive, great things happen. For more than century, The Kiwanis Club of Waco has done just that. We are a part of Kiwanis International, which hosts 8,500 clubs worldwide, with over a half-million members in more than 90 countries. The Kiwanis Club of Waco is a part of the Texas-Oklahoma District, which has over 7,100 members and raises $75-80 million a year to support children. In the last year, The Kiwanis Club of Waco has raised substantial funds for the benefit of children in Waco. Last year, our signature project was the purchase and installation of a book-vending machine that was placed at West Avenue Elementary School in Waco ISD. The book-vending machine will increase literacy, promote a love of reading, and encourage children to meet academic and behavioral goals established by teachers.
